Sustainability - 2025

Statement of corporate social responsibility in accordance with the Danish Financial Statements Act §99a

Business model

The LINAK® Group manufactures electric linear actuator solutions that enable smooth movement across a wide range of applications. Everything from healthcare to agriculture, comfort furniture, office furniture and industrial automation - the possibilities are extensive.

At the LINAK Group, responsibility is about doing what we do best - and doing it properly. No company can work with sustainability without making deliberate choices. We base our decisions on common sense and on step-by-step improvement. Therefore, LINAK works actively with five important areas:

  • we improve your life
  • we take care of each other
  • we take care of the environment
  • we are locally committed and globally conscious
  • we set expectations

These five core areas define the LINAK Group’s responsibility within sustainability.

Following a thorough materiality assessment, LINAK decided to focus on six key areas to drive our sustainability initiatives within the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) categories. These areas also support and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The six key areas are as follows:

  • Carbon emissions
  • Product design and circularity
  • Resource use & circularity
  • Employee engagement
  • Sustainable supply chain
  • Customer ESG expectations

Risk analysis

The LINAK Group has a size and a business area, where there may be risks associated with environmental, climate, social and employee conditions, human rights, corruption and bribery.

LINAK wants to meet environmental requirements in both product development and manufacturing, and to develop solutions with low energy consumption.

In relation to social and employee matters, the objective is to prevent physical or mental injury among employees.

Risks associated with human rights violations, corruption and bribery are addressed through the LINAK ethical guidelines and the LINAK Code of Conduct for business partners.

Environment and climate
We are a part of a value chain that has a negative climate impact– particularly upstream activities, which currently account for a significant share of emissions. We have conducted a comprehensive mapping of our supply chain emissions and identified key areas for reduction. These efforts are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative.

There is a risk that LINAK may not meet regulatory and customer requirements regarding substances in materials, such as PFAS, REACH, RoHS, etc. LINAK uses a dedicated software solution to monitor substances in products, and full material declarations are prepared to ensure transparency and control.

LINAK operates in regions that are vulnerable to natural disasters and extreme weather events, which may disrupt supply chains. To mitigate, LINAK has diversified the supply chain to ensure multiple sourcing options for all critical components. Risk assessments are also conducted for selected business partners.

Social and personnel conditions
LINAK production facilities involve manual handling, machinery, and repetitive tasks, which pose a risk of physical injury and long-term musculoskeletal strain. Safety remains the highest priority, and we are committed to maintaining safe working environments across all locations.

LINAK uses certain chemicals in manufacturing processes, which may pose health risks to employees. All substances are subject to chemical assessments, and where classified as hazardous, appropriate safety measures are implemented.

Human rights
There is a potential risk of human rights violations within the value chain. LINAK has implemented a Code of Conduct that business partners are required to sign. All new business partners are also subject to audits based on the standards of this Code of Conduct.

Corruption and bribery
There is a risk of corruption and bribery in the value chain. This may occur across all areas of operation, including LINAK operations.

LINAK has implemented a Code of Conduct, which business partners are required to sign. All new business partners are also subject to audits based on the standards of this Code of Conduct. Internally, LINAK has introduced an Ethics Handbook, which employees receive regular training in.

Due diligence processes

Environment and climate
LINAK provides innovative actuator solutions that improve quality of life and working environments, while considering the environmental impact of products and operations.

We are committed to limiting our environmental impact by focusing on areas where meaningful improvements can be achieved through proportionate effort.

To support these goals, we undertake the following actions:

  • reduce scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions in alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative, ensuring efforts are consistent with global climate goals
  • reduce energy consumption and pursue a transition to greener energy sources
  • monitor and reduce water usage
  • ensure safe handling and disposal of waste, prioritising reduction, reuse, and recycling to minimise landfill use
  • integrate environmental considerations into the design of new products and packaging, using sustainable materials and processes to improve environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle.
  • provide end-of-life instructions to support proper waste management and recycling, contributing to a circular economy.
  • comply with applicable legislation and commit to continuous improvement in environmental performance

Environmental goals 2024/2025

  • Reduce scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions by 6.5% in 2024/25 (final target: 42% CO2e reduction by 2030). Targets are based on absolute reductions compared to the 2021/22 baseline.
  • Reduce scope 3 CO2e emissions by 4.2% in 2024/25 (final target: 25% CO2e reduction by 2030). Targets are based on absolute reductions compared to the 2021/22 baseline.
  • Implement CSRD legislation across the organisation to enable sustainability reporting from 2025/26 at the latest. The target is to publish a first version of the sustainability report during 2024/25.
  • Complete PFAS mapping across all products and prepare a phase-out plan in line with upcoming legislation.

Throughout the financial year 2024/25, we have continued to work on these initiatives.

The LINAK Group will maintain its focus on the established efforts in the coming year.

  • Social terms and staff conditions
The LINAK Group will always comply with applicable legislation and other requirements in the field of occupational health and safety. In addition, the LINAK Group promotes a positive working environment:
    • the objective is to prevent physical or mental harm to employees
    • focus on preventative measures, which form the foundation of the Group's health and safety policies
    • visualise a healthy working environment and develop behaviours accordingly
    • the Group supports health promotion initiatives and activities

To support employee wellbeing, the LINAK Group has defined a set of ethical guidelines outlining expected behaviour in the workplace. Please refer to the ethical guidelines.

Regular assessments of the working environment are conducted to monitor social and employee conditions, which have remained stable throughout the financial year 2024/25 compared to previous years.

The LINAK Group will continue to pursue the established initiatives in the coming year.

  • Respect for human rights, anti-corruption and bribery
The LINAK Group adheres to the principles of international conventions, including the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights (1948) and the International Labor Organisation (ILO), and expects business partners to do the same. These principles and expectations are outlined in the Code of Conduct.

Business partners are required to ensure that:
  • employees have freedom of association
  • work is not carried out under duress
  • child labour is not used
  • working hours comply with local legislation
  • Employees must not be subject to discrimination
  • preventive measures are taken to address environmental challenges and reduce environmental impact
  • corrupt practices are actively rejected

The Code of Conduct is included in the business agreement, which business partners must sign. Business partners are expected to commit to an action plan addressing any required improvements identified through the Code of Conduct. If no progress is made, the LINAK Group reserves the right to terminate the cooperation.

The LINAK Group conducts regular audits with external partners to verify compliance with the Code of Conduct. During the financial year 2024/25, none of these audits resulted in termination of cooperation.

The LINAK Group will continue to pursue the established initiatives in the coming year.
