Sustainability

What started as an idea to help a friend is now a global company, improving lives all around the world. Using advanced electric actuator solutions, we move people in their work and their lives. But the goal to improve lives goes far beyond our products – it is included in our way of thinking, our values, and the way we do business.

Our roots in our Danish culture, our family heritage, and our values help drive us. Not to always take the easiest path, but the right one; for our customers, our employees, and our stakeholders.

Thinking sustainably has always been a part of our decision-making, and we have taken significant steps to ensure that our biggest impact on this planet is improving lives with our products.

We all have a responsibility to help minimise any negative impact on the environment.

In 2012, my family and I made an important decision for the LINAK future. We initiated a generational plan to secure that the business stays in the family, and that the values that describe our family-owned business continues. When it comes to investments, we think long-term. At LINAK we feel very committed to our employees and the local area, which is why we keep the headquarters and production in Denmark, and we support activities in the local community. Turning words into action

Following a double materiality assessment, we have chosen to focus on six focus areas to advance our sustainability initiatives within the ESG categories. These areas also support and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

By integrating these initiatives into our operations – from product development and supply chain management to our collaborations with customers – we aim to make a significant positive impact on both the environment and the lives of the individuals our products support globally every day.

LINAK supports the Sustainable Development Goals

Environmental

At LINAK, sustainability and managing environmental impact are ongoing areas of focus. One of the main factors is reducing carbon emissions across our operations and value chain.

Our efforts began in 2004 with the installation of an HVAC control system to lower energy use – an early step that has supported continued improvements. We continue to work on reducing energy consumption while delivering solutions that meet design and market needs.

Our global presence is built on local understanding. Across our sites, we draw on local knowledge to identify relevant initiatives that reflect country specific conditions, including those related to carbon and resource use.

Community engagement

We want to make a difference. We embrace our corporate responsibility by supporting educational institutions in our local communities. We believe in empowering the next generation through the sharing of our expertise and insights, which we have accumulated over the years. Together, we foster innovation and take responsibility.

Product carbon footprint

LINAK uses a software tool to calculate product carbon footprints (PCFs) for our products. These assessments provide data that support product transparency. The software tool enables us to measure and analyse the carbon emissions associated with each phase of our product’s life cycle – from raw material extraction through manufacturing, distribution, usage, and end-of-life disposal. This data allows us to identify key areas for carbon reduction and adopt more responsible practices.

Carbon emissions

In our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, we have set our targets to significantly cut our carbon footprint by 2030. Compared to our previous fiscal year, we have seen a 28.1% reduction in scope 1 & 2 related carbon emissions. Built to last

Our design process takes environmental responsibility into account as a principle in product development. Durability is a key aspect of sustainability. A great example of this is the latest series of lifting columns launched in 2025 that are tested to 25,000 cycles and are backed by an industry-leading 10-year warranty, which helps reduce the need for replacements and limits waste over time.

Sustainability is never a one-size-fits all solution. Every customer and market has unique needs, and we work closely with them to design solutions that fit their goals – whether that means reducing carbon footprint, meeting local regulations, or creating new business opportunities.

Governance

Sustainability governance is anchored in our Sustainability Committee. The Committee decides on the LINAK strategy and approach to sustainability. The Committee consists of 15 people from LINAK HQ representing all areas of LINAK. The Committee leaders are our Vice President of Quality and our Vice President of HR.

At operational level, sustainability is integrated throughout the organisation without a dedicated sustainability department. Instead, tasks related to sustainability, e.g. data collection, risk mitigation, and progress reporting, are managed within individual departments by those who possess the relevant expertise.

This approach ensures that sustainability is a shared responsibility and embedded in our everyday operations.

It is our mission to improve people’s lives through our products. It is crucial to LINAK that we achieve our goals without compromising our ethical values. Our dedication to integrity, fairness, and responsibility guides our actions and decisions, ensuring we treat our employees with respect, care for the environment, and engage honestly with our stakeholders and business partners.

They emphasise integrity, environmental responsibility, quality assurance, supply chain transparency, strategic purchasing, data protection, and a safe reporting mechanism for unethical behaviour, fostering a culture of safety first, accountability, and trust.

Quality policy

We are dedicated to delivering consistent quality and innovative products to our customers. This commitment encompasses ensuring quality in all processes, adhering to requirements, pursuing continuous improvement, and providing exceptional service at every customer touchpoint.

Environmental policy

We are committed to developing products that consume minimal energy and utilise approved materials, ensuring we do not place unnecessary strain on the environment. Our goal is to employ optimal technology in our manufacturing processes and to promote environmental awareness among our employees, encouraging eco-friendly practices throughout the organisation.

Working environment policy

We provide a safe and healthy workspace, striving to ensure that no employee experiences physical or mental harm. Our focus on prevention forms the cornerstone of our health and safety initiatives. Additionally, we promote a positive working environment by fostering supportive behaviours and implementing health-promoting initiatives and activities.

Reporting through EcoVadis®

EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that provides sustainability ratings for companies, helping them assess and improve their environmental, social, and ethical performance. The EcoVadis rating system evaluates companies across a range of criteria, including environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. We use EcoVadis to evaluate and enhance our sustainability performance. And we use the insights to support our customers, providing them with the data and information needed to understand and advance their sustainability journeys.

In 2025, we received a “Bronze” badge rating, reflecting our dedication to sustainable practices and ongoing efforts to improve. By using EcoVadis, we not only strengthen our commitment to sustainability but also empower our customers to make informed decisions and foster a more sustainable future.
